Framingham Planning Board names Mitch vice chair during reorganization

Ted Cosgrove, chair of the Framingham Planning Board, opened the meeting and presided over a reorganization that included the election of a new vice chair. A board member nominated Mitch for the vice chair role and the nomination was seconded; Mitch accepted.

The board then took a voice vote. Chair Cosgrove announced the vote as positive and welcomed Mitch as vice chair. Members also confirmed a quorum of three for the reorganization items and discussed committee assignments, including a representative to the MetroWest Regional Collaborative.

The board noted that Elsiana has volunteered to serve on the MetroWest Regional Collaborative and that she is in the process of being promoted to a full voting member of the planning board. The board did not change its stated role: members emphasized that zoning changes are the purview of City Council, while the planning board provides technical guidance and recommendations.

The meeting proceeded to other agenda items after the reorganization.
