The Grand Junction City Council voted to accept petitions and adopt ordinances annexing two parcels into city limits and to zone one of the properties to a residential medium-density district.
Planning staff presented the Morelli annexation, a request to annex approximately 2.56 acres north of I-70B. Staff found the annexation met the criteria in the Municipal Annexation Act and the city’s zoning code; no public opposition was recorded and council adopted the related resolution and ordinance.
Staff also presented the Foxgrove annexation (about 4.75 acres at 3071 E and A Half Road) and recommended annexation and zoning to Residential Medium 8 (RM-8). Applicant Steve Wojtela addressed council and said the project aims to "continue providing affordable houses in Grand Junction." Council adopted the resolution accepting the petition, then passed ordinances annexing the property and establishing RM-8 zoning.
Both annexation items included findings of fact from staff that the proposals complied with applicable annexation criteria and comprehensive plan guidance. Council approved the Morelli and Foxgrove measures unanimously.
