Bluff council actions: cemetery appointments, CDBG asbestos application and representative appointments

The Bluff Town Council took several routine and administrative actions during its Jan. 20 work session.

Minutes: The council moved and approved minutes for the Jan. 6 regular meeting and Jan. 13 CDBG public hearing and work session (the work session minutes were approved with Josh Ewing’s suggested edits).

Cemetery board appointments: Mayor Josh Ewing recommended appointing three people to the Bluff Cemetery Board: Tom Hiserrod, Carolyn Harmon and Kathy Carson (a fourth applicant, Ray Boucher, was mentioned but not advanced). The council moved to approve the appointments. During the voice vote one member indicated an abstention before the tally was clarified; for the record the clerk noted “4 in favor, 1 abstain.”

CDBG application: The council approved submitting a Community Development Block Grant application to fund asbestos removal at the community center (CCC), with members expressing support for moving the application forward pending eligibility checks.

Local homeless coordinating council representative: The council moved and approved appointing Jen Davila as Bluff’s representative to the local homeless coordinating council; several council members indicated willingness to assist or substitute if needed.
