Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority approves consent agenda, reaffirms legislative advocacy principles

The Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority approved its consent agenda and re‑adopted existing guiding principles for legislative advocacy during a meeting that opened at 04:01.

The consent agenda approved the minutes from the December 16, 2025 meeting, payment to the California Product Stewardship Council in the amount of $5,308.94 for invoice 39023, and a budget transfer of $60,000. Chair Greenough called for the motion; it was moved and seconded and carried on a unanimous roll‑call vote of commissioners present.

On legislative advocacy, Director Ward said the board’s guiding principles are unchanged from last year and allow staff to engage on bills that move quickly through committee when the subject matches adopted policy. “Staff recommend adopting the guiding principles for legislative advocacy,” Ward said. A motion to adopt the existing principles passed unanimously.

The board took no public comment on either item. The authority will publish meeting minutes and documentation of the consent items in accordance with its standard procedures.

The meeting continued with the director’s report and several substantive agenda items.
