Jim Jenkins presented rezoning requests A through D at the Jan. 20 workshop and asked that each be placed on the Feb. 2 agenda for a formal vote.
Items introduced included a request to rezone a parcel at 6688 Lake Bureau (Tax Map 21 Parcel 1901) from R1 suburban residential to R2 multifamily residential; a one-acre family-division from an agricultural-to-residential parcel at 1070 Vaughn Road (Tax Map 36 Parcel 136100); and a conversion from R1 to C2 general commercial for a 4.15-acre parcel at 3401 Waller Ferry Road (Tax Map 009 Parcel 34). Jenkins said staff recommended the items and noted conditions such as access routing to Highway 321 for the commercial parcel.
Commissioners discussed local historical context (Browder Farm), access and road-standard concerns and agreed staff should ensure access and road notes are in the Feb. 2 materials. No votes were taken at the workshop; the items were scheduled for the Feb. 2 commission meeting.
