Huber Heights held a statutorily required public hearing on Jan. 12 on a proposed tax-increment financing (TIF) district for the Creekside Woods residential development.
Economic Development staff described the project as a 159-townhome development located at the intersection of Wildcat Road and Kellenberger Road. The law director explained the public hearing's narrow statutory purpose: to allow a property owner subject to the proposed TIF to object to inclusion. No such objection was made at the meeting, and the hearing was formally closed.
Council and staff clarified the TIF process for the public, including notice to property owners and the limited scope of the hearing. Staff did not record any developer appearance or formal objection at the hearing.
Next steps: staff will proceed with statutorily required steps for establishing the TIF district; any formal objections from eligible property owners would be recorded as they arise during the statutory process.
