The Brockton City Council on Nov. 10 opened hearings on two license-transfer petitions from Teen Challenge New England Inc. for premises at 12 Clifton Avenue and voted to postpone both matters to the council’s first meeting in December.
Clerk/Staff read that the petitions — one for a garage license transfer and a separate petition for a motor vehicle mechanical repair license — had paperwork on file and that the fire department raised no objections. Councilman Castro moved to postpone the garage-license hearing, saying the petitioner’s representative was not present and “there’s also more work to be done in the application.” The motion was seconded and, after an oral vote, the council “matters postponed.”
Councilwoman DeCastro made a similar motion on the mechanical-repair license, describing the application as “a work in progress” and asking for delay until the December meeting. That motion was seconded and the council again agreed to postpone.
Both hearings will return at the council’s first December meeting for further consideration.
The hearing record shows the fire department registered no objections and that required paperwork is on file, but councilors and staff indicated additional application work remains before final action.
