Glendale Arts and Culture Commission elects Savannah Zadorian chair, Inessa Kasumian vice chair and fills 2026 committees

The Glendale Arts and Culture Commission on Jan. 15 unanimously appointed Savannah Zadorian as chair and Inessa Kasumian as vice chair for one-year terms beginning January 2026, and approved a slate of committee assignments and ex officio student commissioners.

Commissioner (speaker 3) moved to approve the minutes of the commission’s Dec. 18, 2025 meeting; the motion was seconded and passed by roll-call vote. During the same session, Zadorian was nominated to serve as chair pro tem and accepted the appointment. The commission then nominated and confirmed Kasumian as vice chair.

The commission voted to name members to a set of artist review and selection committees covering the Adams Square Mini Park gas station program, the Beyond the Box utility-box mural program, the 2026 performance series and the Citywide Public Art RFQ and Creative Crosswalks programs. Commissioners volunteered for and approved assignments to a 2028 Olympics committee as well.

The body also approved the appointment of Anais Joseph Lynch and Liana Aacop (transcript also records a variant spelling, Liana Aculp) as ex officio student commissioners to serve through Dec. 31, 2026. The record shows the motion for the student appointments was read aloud and passed by roll call.

All formal motions recorded during the meeting passed by unanimous roll-call votes of the commissioners present. The commission closed the item after confirming volunteers and directing staff to update committee rosters and meeting logistics.
