Board of Elections approves Amended Bylaws Version 3

The Board of Elections and Registration voted unanimously Jan. 15 to approve Amended Version 3 of its bylaws.

The motion, read aloud at the meeting, was “to approve the amended version number 3 of the board of elections and registration bylaws.” After a second, individual roll-call votes were taken for Districts 1 through 5; each district recorded a “yay.” The presiding officer announced the amended bylaws were approved.

The vote was taken under the meeting’s old-business agenda and conducted as an individual roll call rather than by voice vote. Board members received the revised bylaws in advance as part of the meeting packet and had the opportunity to review them before the vote.

The board did not detail changes in the bylaws on the record during the meeting beyond confirming the motion to adopt Version 3. Board staff and members said the packet contained the correct version for review and that the board had had time to consider it prior to the roll-call vote.

The board moved immediately afterward to new-business items, including the leadership transition that will follow the bylaws' procedures.
