The Town of Lakeville Fire Station Building Committee voted to approve awarding HVAC commissioning services to RW Sullivan on a not-to-exceed basis of $27,000.
Alex, the project representative, said the team solicited three proposals for HVAC commissioning and recommended RW Sullivan as the lowest responsive and qualified bidder. “We put forward the recommendation ... for the selection of RW Sullivan for the commissioning agent, at a not to exceed without prior authorization value of $27,000,” Alex said, adding that the figure is below the $30,000 budgeted for commissioning on the project.
Committee members asked how RW Sullivan had performed on previous jobs and were told the firm had worked locally on similar projects and had been satisfactory. Alex and Taylor described the firm's role as arranging commissioning activities, coordinating with subcontractors and running the commissioning program once started.
A motion to support Pomeroy Associates' recommendation to award the commissioning contract to RW Sullivan (not to exceed $27,000) was made, seconded, and approved by roll call with unanimous ayes.
Next steps: staff will issue the award documents and coordinate RW Sullivan's scope and start date with the contractor and project schedule.
