Grant Robinson, manufacturing director for the Toledo Assembly Complex, welcomed federal officials and announced that Stellantis will add production of an all‑new midsize Ram alongside Jeep vehicles in 2028 as part of a $13 billion corporate investment.
"We are the home of Jeep," Robinson said, and said the Toledo investment will include $400 million and create about 900 jobs, supporting a team he described as "about 4,700 employees, many of whom are third and fourth generation Toledo workers." Robinson said the event marked his last at the plant before he transfers to Sterling Heights Assembly Plant.
The visit included remarks from federal officials who praised Stellantis’s decision. U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer said the announcement "means more jobs here, more jobs in other plants" and called the investment a "big step." Greer also framed tariffs and trade policy as factors that have helped reshore production.
Company and federal officials at the event tied the investment to broader aims of sustaining manufacturing capacity and preserving high‑paying factory jobs. Officials emphasized the plant’s role in regional supply chains and the importance of encouraging domestic production.
The event closed with officials thanking Stellantis, Jeep and plant workers for the tour and hospitality; no formal federal grant, loan, or tax‑incentive detail was announced during the remarks.
