Kirkland launches searchable municipal code publishing platform

Christian Lash announced that the City of Kirkland’s new code publishing platform is live and combines the municipal code, zoning code, comprehensive plan, ordinances and resolutions in one searchable place. He said a short introduction video with navigation tips is linked in the episode show notes.

"You can now search through the city's municipal code, zoning code, comprehensive plan, ordinances, and resolutions all in one place," Lash said. Co‑host David Wolbrecht and Lash noted the prior system required visiting multiple websites and that the consolidated platform will make it easier for residents and staff to find authoritative code language.

The hosts encouraged listeners to review the short introduction video and the show notes for links and tips on how to use the new platform. They suggested breaking guidance into short clips for easier public engagement.

The platform announcement is intended to improve transparency and public access to city regulations and planning documents.
