County reports strong first‑half tax‑season processing; web and lockbox channels highlighted

Chief Deputy Treasurer Jessica McPartland briefed the committee on first‑half tax‑season processing, reporting that county tax researchers processed $67,200,000 in first‑half payments. McPartland said that total includes transactions processed for mortgage and escrow companies, as well as taxpayers holding multiple accounts.

McPartland noted the county’s first use of Bank of Albuquerque lockbox services during the first half, saying that the vendor processed $30,400,000 and provided consistent communication during onboarding. She also described web and point‑of‑sale payment channels that processed $17,100,000 in property tax payments during the period.

Treasury Operations Manager Holly Aguilar provided supplemental figures on collection progress: she reported that 56.2% of the 2025 tax roll had been collected, that $202,600,000 was placed on the treasurer’s collection roll in October and $113,800,000 had been collected by the reporting date, and that gross receipts tax receipts were $10,800,000 year to date (about $2,000,000 below the prior fiscal year due to a drop in Lida-funded GRT).

The committee did not take formal action on the collections presentation; staff reported the results and moved on to the investments briefing.
