Council members trade thanks and farewells at year-end meeting

As the final meeting of the year, council time was devoted in part to communications from the body, where members offered brief tributes and personal reflections.

Mister Heideck, Missus Thompson and several others offered expressions of gratitude to their colleagues and staff. Remarks noted appreciation for collaborative work, the difficulty of public service and an expressed desire to continue civic engagement beyond current terms. Speakers reminded colleagues to be humble, compassionate and to lead when required.

The comments were personal and ceremonial in tone; no formal actions or policy decisions were taken during this portion of the agenda. The meeting then moved to a motion to adjourn, which passed and concluded the session at 6:41 p.m.
