Linn County work session: minutes, claims and payroll approved; board moves to closed session

The Linn County board approved routine business items during its Jan. 20 work session and voted to enter a closed session to discuss draft economic development agreements.

Minutes: Unidentified Speaker 1 moved to approve the minutes of the Jan. 12, 2026 meeting; the motion carried following a second and a voice vote.

Claims: Unidentified Speaker 3 moved to approve claims dated Jan. 16, 2026 with itemized amounts presented by staff: $3,580.70 (claim/check), ACH $64,724.17, EFT wire $28,337.86, and funds trust wire $2,320,304.36, for a total of $2,416,947.09. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; no individual roll-call votes were recorded in the work session transcript.

Payroll authorizations: The board moved and seconded approval of the employee change roster and payroll authorizations; the motion passed by voice vote.
