The Monroe County Women’s Commission’s outreach committee reported plans to collect feminine products for distribution at local homeless shelters and aim to complete distribution by the end of next month, with a tally of items and outcomes to be presented at the March meeting.
An outreach committee member said the group plans to assemble and distribute donations directly, noting the goal is to have a report of collections by the March meeting. The committee’s current focus also includes a web design camp whose end-of-program activities were mentioned but will be reported on once Tiana provides her update.
On administrative business, the commission confirmed approval of minutes (including a corrected December minute entry) and discussed the 2026 meeting schedule. Vice Chair Julie Hardesty noted uncertainty about whether the schedule resolution had been finalized and said the next meeting is expected to be Feb. 19 at 5:30 in the same room unless edits to location are made. Members also said some commissioners reported reappointments through 2028 while others were still awaiting mail notifications.
The commission moved to public comment, recorded no in-person public comments and adjourned; the meeting time shown at adjournment was 6:16.
