The Village Board voted on several administrative measures at its meeting.
Snow removal: Following public feedback about invoices, trustees approved a sliding seasonal fee structure for sidewalk clearing that is retroactive to the start of the winter season: first offense $2.00 per linear foot for snow removal and $0.50/linear foot for sanding/salting; second offense $3.00/linear foot (75¢/ft sanding); third and any subsequent offenses $4.00/linear foot ($1.00/ft sanding). Board members discussed administrative burden for the clerk's office but supported the sliding scale as a fairer, graduated approach intended to encourage prompt clearing and improve pedestrian safety.
Financial & administrative votes: The board accepted the court financial audit for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2025, which noted 11 late deposits out of 679 items; staff procedures were strengthened to reduce untimely deposits. Trustees authorized the mayor to sign a one‑time $1,000 contract with ADP to create an automated retirement report to reduce manual data entry. The board also authorized renewal of the Dutchess County self‑insured workers' compensation agreement for another year.
Appointments: Trustees appointed Tara Barrett as Village Green Committee chair and named Brenda Cagle, Jim Cashin, Troy Glass, Kevin Joseph McGinnis and David Pearson as members, with Trustee Uhuru as liaison; the committee's January, April and July meeting dates were set.
What's next: The clerk will update invoices as required under the revised snow‑removal scale, the ADP report will be set up and the Village Green Committee will meet per the adopted schedule.
