Beaufort County’s episode highlighted community events for the coming weekend and promoted local animal-adoption opportunities.
Festival and workshops: The sixth annual Beaufort Oyster Festival runs through the weekend at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, with a Saturday Oyster Boogie 5K at 8 a.m., festival activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a Sunday 2026 tournament and live music. A hands-on sourdough-starter workshop is scheduled Saturday, Jan. 18, 1–4 p.m. at Marshview Mercantile (2631 Boundary St., Beaufort); registration is available at marshviewmercantile.com. A tiny bar concert featuring Jacob Evans is set for Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. at Ocon (71 Calhoun St., Bluffton); tickets listed at $85.
Animal shelter and pet profiles: Beaufort County Animal Services highlighted several animals available for adoption, including Cole (a three-legged dog) and Lucille (a 1-year-old terrier mix). The program described each animal’s temperament, foster history and basic care needs and provided Beaufort County Animal Services contact information (843-255-5010 and shelter@bcgov.net). The host urged residents to check the shelter’s Facebook page for missing/found posts and to report animals left outdoors during the approaching cold front.
Weather and safety: The host warned of freezing temperatures and possible snow and urged owners to shelter pets appropriately and to report animals in unsafe conditions to the shelter email.
