The chair of the House Committee on Human Services told members on Jan. 16 that the committee would postpone a planned vote on H.545 until Tuesday afternoon because the Judiciary Committee was taking testimony about an immunity clause earlier that day. "We are going to postpone our vote on H5 45 until Tuesday," the chair said.
The chair added that the Health Care Committee did not recommend changes to the bill but that Judiciary's review may produce edits. Members said they would reconvene Tuesday afternoon after caucuses and the House floor session to take the vote. The chair also outlined broader committee scheduling: witnesses on H.594 will continue to be heard and the committee will begin Agency of Human Services budget presentations next week, with Appropriations expected to vote on a related budget adjustment the following week.
The committee recorded no formal motion vote in the hearing transcript; members were informed of the change in schedule and asked to prepare for Tuesday's afternoon session. Representative Lalonde was expected to speak later in the day and committee staff were asked to circulate any recommended changes received from Judiciary and other committees before reconvening.
