Student representatives at the Jan. 15 Colonial School District meeting summarized recent and upcoming school activities across the district.
Plymouth White Marsh students described the Dec. 4 Winter Concert and invited the board to spring concerts; freshmen and sophomores took Keystone exams after winter break. Colonial Middle School recapped the Dec. 21 "Brain Show," a senior‑citizen winter concert, and a holiday showcase involving 75 seventh‑ and eighth‑grade students. The district also noted more than 100 Colonial TSA students (grades 6–12) will compete in Region 5 events on Jan. 24 in approximately 72 STEM categories.
Elementary schools reported year‑end concerts, spirit team holiday drives that supported roughly 25 students, after‑school clubs (including a Lego club at Contra Hawkins and an after‑school step team program), and a districtwide kindness challenge and rally with staff and administrators invited. White Marsh Elementary's life‑skills students hosted a "little chef's" eatery and more dates are planned.
During the public‑comment portion, Leo Solga of Lower Merion introduced himself as a candidate for the 148th state‑house district and thanked the board for its service during School Board Recognition Month.
