Needham Human Rights Committee approves past minutes, notes attendance corrections and schedule question

The Town of Needham Human Rights Committee approved earlier meeting minutes and addressed attendance omissions during its Jan. 15 meeting.

Members moved to accept the September minutes and then the Nov. 13 minutes; voice votes were recorded with at least two 'ayes' and one abstention where members had been absent. The committee noted that the Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 minutes should be amended to list members who had been present (Marlene, Tina, Gemma, John) and directed the clerk to add the names and upload revised minutes.

Unidentified Speaker 1 suggested elements for a Town seal redesign (Charles River, a canoe, and an indigenous person in a canoe) and the committee agreed to include that phrasing as a single design element. Members also discussed whether to move future meetings from the third Thursday to the second Thursday but agreed to solicit input from members who could not attend on a different date.

Next steps: Clerk to upload amended minutes and members to confirm availability for a possible schedule change.
