During councilors’ recognition at the Nov. 10 meeting, Councilor Razak highlighted local achievements and philanthropy for Brockton.
Razak announced that Janice Fitzgerald, Brockton’s director of the Council on Aging, was named Massachusetts Council on Aging Director of the Year and extended congratulations. He also announced a $1,000,000 donation from the Eastern Bank Foundation to support local efforts addressing food insecurity, and publicly thanked the foundation.
Razak congratulated colleagues who were reelected as well as the newly elected mayor, council, and school committee members. He raised a concern about Brockton Community Access’s lack of election-night coverage and said he hoped colleagues would join in seeking improvements.
Councilor Lally offered Veterans Day remarks, thanked veterans and council leadership for their service, and the council president invited residents to the city’s Veterans Day parade stepping off at the War Memorial at 10:00 the following day.
No formal votes were recorded on the donation or recognitions during the meeting; the announcements were presented during councilors’ recognition.
