Quick votes and procedural actions: introductions, committee reassignments, joint resolution, remote voting and adjournment

The House approved a set of procedural actions and voice votes during the floor session.

- Suspension to introduce bills by number only: A member from Poultney moved to suspend the rules to introduce 17 bills by number; the motion was approved by voice vote and first readings for H.688 through H.704 were read and referred to the committees listed by the clerk.

- JRS 33 (joint assembly on governor's budget message): Read on the floor and adopted in concurrence; Senator Perchlik was recorded as offering the resolution, which schedules a joint assembly for Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.

- Committee reassignments: The House relieved the Education Committee of H.393 (an act relating to prohibiting requiring face masks in schools) and committed it to the Committee on Health Care; the motion by the member from Cornwall passed by voice vote. The House also relieved the Committee on General and Housing of H.334 (act relating to limiting employer restrictions on individuals separating from employment) and committed it to the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development; that motion passed by voice vote.

- Other floor actions: The House adopted House Resolution 11 authorizing limited remote committee voting through the remainder of 2026 by voice vote. Finally, a motion to adjourn until Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. was moved by the member from Polanyi and approved by voice vote.
