Robert Held appeared before the Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals on Jan. 21 seeking variances for setbacks and a taller garage to store a personal car collection and recreational vehicles.
Held said the proposed garage has a 14-foot height and that moving the structure forward or shortening it slightly could reduce the required variances; he told the board he planned to remove an accessory shed and an ATV trailer existing on the lot. Board members asked for revised hard-copy drawings and confirmed conditions: no plumbing or commercial automotive work in the garage and the second-story deck must remain unenclosed.
The board closed the hearing, kept the record open for revised plans and drawings, and reserved decision.
What happens next: The applicant must submit revised hard-copy plans showing proposed changes; the board will review the updated drawings before issuing a written decision.
