Council adopts multiple ordinances and ratifies appointments; votes recorded as unanimous

At its Jan. 14 meeting, the Terrebonne Parish Council adopted multiple ordinances and ratified several appointments, with most votes recorded as unanimous.

Key actions taken:
- Adopted an ordinance to amend the parish code governing cultural facilities and to phase in increased rental rates for the civic center and municipal auditoriums (council noted a correction to the article number in the record).
- Adopted an ordinance repealing outdated civic-center ordinances and clarifying noncommercial rental discounts.
- Adopted a 30-year franchise granting certain electric supply rights to the company transcribed as 'energy l l energy Louisiana LLC' (franchise period 30 years from adoption).
- Adopted an ordinance establishing a three-way stop at Tulane Street and Kane Street to authorize installation of signage.
- Adopted ordinances appointing Anthony J. Alford Insurance Corporation as agent of record for employee group health benefits (medical, dental, pharmacy) and a companion ordinance for life/disability and other employee benefits for 2026 (option-year renewal period cited as 01/01/2026–12/31/2026).
