The Government Audit and Oversight Committee on Jan. 15 continued consideration of a Police Commission statement of purpose and forwarded five ordinances authorizing settlements of lawsuits and unlitigated claims to the full Board of Supervisors.
The clerk described Item 1 as a resolution approving the Police Commission statement of purpose pursuant to Charter section 4.102. Chair Jackie Fielder told the committee the Police Commission was not ready to present on the item and moved to continue it “to the call of the chair.” The clerk recorded a roll call with Vice Chair Danny Sauter and Member Sherrill also recorded as voting 'aye,' and the motion to continue passed 3-0.
Items 3 through 7 were presented together as five ordinances authorizing settlements and unlitigated claims against the city. The committee took no public comment on those items and voted 3-0 to forward them to the Board with a positive recommendation.
The meeting adjourned after the scheduled items. A member of the public asked whether there would be an opportunity for public comment at the end; the transcript records no further public commenters at adjournment.
