McKeesport board honored during School Board Recognition Month; student-athletes presented awards

The McKeesport Area School District opened its Jan. 15 meeting by recognizing members for School Board Recognition Month and presenting student-athlete awards.

Superintendent introduced a compiled set of short student and teacher video messages and said "this is school board recognition month," thanking board members for "looking out for our students and ensuring high quality education remains a priority." Several students addressed the board in the meeting and recipients of the student-athlete awards were invited to come forward for photographs.

A community member thanked Representative Gogener and Patty's Bakery in White Oak for supporting the student-athlete awards program. The meeting then moved on to other agenda items and committee reports.
