Board approves consent agenda; one member objects to AIU website and copier spending

The McKeesport Area School District board approved several groups of consent agenda items by roll call across multiple portions of the Jan. 15 agenda.

During discussion of business and technology items, a board member objected, saying "I'm still disagree with the $12,900 going to the AIU for website upgrade or or website, update management that can be done in house. It's currently being done in house, and, I'm still not a fan of this, copier copier proposal..." The objection referenced perceived service problems with the existing vendor. The board president acknowledged that "Mister Pavlicek is voting no" on the items while the remaining roll-call responses were recorded as 'Aye,' and the motions carried.

Separately, the board took action to authorize the administration to seek proposals for district solicitor services by motion and roll call.
