Seymour council denies reimbursement request for Water Well Road easement

Seymour — The Seymour City Council voted Jan. 15 to deny a reimbursement request tied to an easement on Water Well Road after staff reviewed the easement language and recommended denial.

City staff presented documentation from the easement packet and stated their view that the city did not owe the requester money. The administrator noted the requester was said to claim the city owed roughly $500–$600, but staff found no contractual basis for payment and recommended denial.

A motion to deny reimbursement was made and seconded; the council voted unanimously to deny the requested reimbursement. Staff noted the parcel owner still owes any money due to the city where applicable and that final demolition and lien procedures for other matters continue separately.

The denial was recorded as unanimous; staff will reflect the decision in the city’s records.
