IEC 5 approves virtual participation and prior minutes, recesses to closed session

The Intervention Evaluation Committee (IEC 5) of the California Board of Registered Nursing approved two procedural matters and went into closed session during its Jan. 7 meeting.

Early in the meeting the committee approved Alexis Watson's request to participate virtually for medical reasons; the two in‑person members agreed to allow her participation. Later, the committee moved and seconded to accept the previous IEC meeting minutes. A roll call in open session recorded votes of Heather Hartmark (yes), Carrie Randazzo (yes) and Alexis Watson (yes), and the motion carried.

Chair Jessie Quabbla announced the committee would recess to closed session at 9:29 a.m. "The committee will now meet in closed session pursuant to business and professions code 27.72 0.1 and go to section code 11.126 subdivision C02 to discuss and vote on matters related to the intervention program applicants and participants," the chair said in open session. The committee reconvened at 12:37 p.m.; a motion to adjourn was made and the meeting ended at 12:37 p.m.
