Community group asks Lauderhill for timeline on water-meter replacement and county road striping coordination

Varian Harris, president of the United Lauderhill Community Association, used his public-comment time Jan. 12 to ask city leaders when they plan to start replacing water meters and whether the city has a liaison to coordinate road striping and markings with Broward County.

"The city had talked about replacing our water meters... do you have a schedule or as far as what areas you gotta start in as far as, when you do the installation of the water meters and, yeah, timeline on that there?" Harris asked. He also asked whether the county is responsible for road markings and if the city has staff who coordinate with the county to schedule striping in different areas.

Vice Mayor Campbell indicated the city manager would address the questions later in the meeting. No timeline or commitments were recorded during the public-comment period; Harris thanked the officials for attending a recent HOA meeting and urged continued coordination between residents and city staff.

Why it matters: Water-meter replacement programs and road-marking schedules affect service reliability, billing accuracy and traffic safety; residents requested clarity on scheduling and intergovernmental coordination.
