Hendersonville board approves several administrative measures and a settlement; grouped appointments approved

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Hendersonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a series of administrative and procedural measures and finalized a legal settlement after executive session.

Key votes and actions:
- Resolution 2025‑544: Waived temporary sign-permit fees ($27 per sign) for qualifying nonprofits using city property; passed unanimously. Staff clarified "temporary" is defined in city code (generally 30 days) and that qualifying nonprofits will be subject to approval procedures.
- Ordinance 2025‑524: Amended municipal code to allow partial payments of real and personal property taxes; passed unanimously on first reading.
- Resolution 2025‑545: Adopted a purchasing card policy to replace the existing credit-card policy when the program is implemented; passed unanimously.
- Grouped appointments (A–L): The board confirmed multiple reappointments and appointments across citizen boards and commissions (adjustments and appeals board, stormwater appeals board, industrial development board, lakeshore committee, arts council, beer board) in a single combined vote; motion passed unanimously.
- Settlement authorization (executive session): After an executive session limited to the board and city attorney, the board authorized a settlement that resolves pending litigation without monetary payment by the city but imposes permanent, land‑run restrictions and rental limitations for the subject property; the motion passed 8–5.
