Commission hears Mill Creek Park RFP update, and an ebike charging proposal is slated for January discussion

During the Dec. 15 meeting, commissioners reported that an RFP for Mill Creek Park phase 1 (site soil preparation and regrading) produced two bids; one bidder submitted a late response. The county commissioner schedule will be used to seek approval to award a contractor so work can be lined up for spring.

A separate proposal to install ebike charging stations at the Bridal Parking area, Lawson Hill parking and Mill Creek was introduced; the proposer (represented in the transcript by a project preparer, Richard Davis) requested a meeting with the Open Space Commission in January or February to discuss sites and feedback. Commissioners agreed those items should appear on a January agenda where location specifics and permitting pathways can be discussed.

Other business included scheduling for 2026 (commissioners debated monthly versus every other month and tentatively set Jan. 26, 2026 as the next meeting), a reminder about an open alternate vacancy on the commission and a notice that Rob from the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies is expected to present a finalized report in January or February.

No formal contract awards or funding decisions were made at the meeting; commissioners agreed to coordinate email outreach and to support county staff in advancing procurement and scheduling.
