Board approves multiple rezoning and clerk items, grants property-maintenance extension

At the meeting the board recorded a series of routine and regulatory decisions:

- Salem Orchard Farm LLC (parcel near 98th Street and County Highway C) — the board approved a rezoning and a conditional-use permit to allow retail sales in the A-3 agricultural-related district after a motion and second; planning and zoning had recommended approval. (Items 10.2–10.3.)

- Land-use amendment and rezoning for 9814 Antioch Road — the board approved an amendment to the Village land-use maps (maps '23,'24 and '25) and a rezoning from institutional (I-1) to community business (B-2) per planning and zoning recommendations. (Items 10.4–10.5.)

- Clerk’s items — minutes from the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting were approved; retail license applications to sell fermented malt beverages and intoxicating liquors (for the Kenosha County Fair) were approved contingent on background checks, beverage-server class completion and fee payment; and Laura Frank Hart was appointed to fill a commission vacancy (due to resignation of Doug Randolph). - Property maintenance extension — The board granted Wesley Schroeder an extension to complete property painting work through June 30, 2026 (item 11.4).

All items were approved by voice vote with planning and staff input as noted in the meeting record. The board chair reminded the public that land-use approvals at the rezoning stage do not guarantee final plat or construction approvals, which require subsequent engineering and planning commission reviews.
