Parks board elects Tina as chair and Don as vice chair; approves minutes

The Lake Stevens Parks & Recreation Board filled its 2026 leadership roles during the meeting. After briefly tabling the appointment until a late-arriving member could participate, members untabled the nominations and approved Don as vice chair and Tina as chair for 2026.

A motion to untable the leadership appointment was made and seconded once Carl arrived. Don was nominated for vice chair; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote. Tina was nominated for chair and the board voted in favor; one member announced an abstention during the chair vote but the motion passed and the board confirmed Tina as chair for 2026. Earlier in the meeting the board moved to approve the Nov. 10, 2025 park-board minutes; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Why it matters: Filling leadership positions sets the board’s officers who will guide agendas, coordinate with staff to present the PROS Plan and the 2026 work program to city council, and act as liaisons on capital projects and community outreach.
