Little Compton council OKs advertising short-term rental ordinance for Jan. 22 public hearing

The Little Compton Town Council voted to accept the statement of purpose and draft short-term rental (STR) ordinance created by the ad hoc STR advisory committee and to advertise the draft ordinance for a public hearing on Jan. 22. A councilor moved to schedule and advertise the hearing; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.

Council members emphasized that the vote authorized only advertising for a public hearing and was not an adoption or a public hearing itself. The chair specified that the public hearing will be held on Jan. 22 and that advertising will proceed accordingly. No substantive amendments or debate on the draft ordinance occurred at this meeting.
