Little Compton authorizes submission to state Road Restore program to secure road funds

Town staff briefed the council on the state's municipal roads program (now called 'Road Restore') and requested approval to submit the fiscal 26 agreement to secure state funds. Staff reported that Little Compton received allocations of $281,000 in fiscal 24, $182,000 in fiscal 25 and $91,000 in fiscal 26; the state pays roughly one-third of project costs, so the town would need to provide a local match to realize full project funding. Council moved to authorize the town administrator to sign and submit the municipal roads and bridges / Road Restore agreement; motion passed. Staff said they will refresh a prior 2020 engineering assessment (no fee expected) and identify priorities for paving and repair before the budget process determines match funding.
