Commission refers University Parkway wastewater bids to staff for evaluation

County staff read bids for the University Parkway wastewater project during the Jan. 15 meeting; three contractors submitted bids and the engineer’s estimate was presented.

The record shows a low base bid of $1,980,090.20 from Buyer Construction (document reads a base bid of $1,980,090.20 with a proposed start date), other bids in the $3.2–$3.3 million range from Millauk Construction and Evert Construction, and an engineer’s estimate around $3,354,294.90. A commissioner moved to refer the bids to staff for evaluation and recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried.

The board took no final contract action and referred the matter for staff review, consistent with standard procurement practice when multiple bids require technical evaluation. Staff will return with a recommendation and any necessary contract documents.
