Live Oak Learning Center highlights student growth, CHAMPS expectations and community partnerships

Live Oak Learning Center presented a campus report to the Rockport‑Fulton ISD board on Jan. 15, describing student achievement, staff development, community engagement and operational priorities.

Campus leaders said 72% of students earned recognition for meeting at least one growth goal on midyear assessments; staff continue to use data tools (IXL, MAP) and interventions such as On Your Mark tutoring. The campus reported nearly 15% student participation in extracurricular activities, 71 staff 'shout outs' for recognition during the first semester, and three staff members who completed additional qualifications.

Live Oak described active community partnerships including visits to Gulf Point Village, a beautification effort with the city parks department, and three family events partnering with local organizations in the spring. The campus also emphasized safety and routines under the CHAMPS behavior framework (used for assemblies, cafeterias and classroom expectations), and outlined recent threat assessment and reunification tabletop exercises.

Trustees noted the kindergarten team had the highest district growth on December MAP data and recognized the campus's work. The board received the report as informational; no action was required.
