Board hears proposal to raise preschool and full-day kindergarten tuition for 2026-27

The North Ridgeville City Board of Education discussed proposed tuition increases for preschool and full-day kindergarten during a first reading on Jan. 13.

The treasurer provided specific figures and payment options after trustees requested detail: for pre-K, $2,000 if paid in full by Aug. 1 or $2,200 if paid on a monthly plan; for full-day kindergarten, $2,700 if paid in full by Aug. 1 or $2,900 under a monthly payment schedule. The treasurer said families registering now could make payments immediately and that the treasurer's office and school building staff would assist families who need help with the payment process.

Board members pressed for comparisons with neighboring districts and noted that property tax reforms have reduced some local revenue, which the treasurer said partly motivated the rate adjustments. The increase was presented as a first reading; the board will consider final approval at its Jan. 20 meeting.
