Monroe Planning Commission approves minutes, elects chair and vice chair

At the Jan. 12 meeting the Monroe Planning Commission approved minutes for the Nov. 10 and Dec. 8, 2025 meetings and held its annual election for chair and vice chair.

Procedural approvals: Commissioner Bach moved to approve the Nov. 10 minutes and Commissioner Walsh seconded; the commission approved the motion 4‑0. A subsequent motion to approve the Dec. 8 minutes also passed 4‑0 after minor corrections were discussed.

Elections: Staff ran the formal election process. Commissioners conducted nominations and a formal vote; the motion to elect the chair carried 4‑0 and the commission elected Carla Low as vice chair (motion passed 4‑0). The chair thanked commissioners for entrusting them with leadership for the year.

Why it matters: These are regular organizational and procedural functions that allow the commission to continue advisory work to City Council. The minutes approvals and leadership elections set the commission’s administrative direction for 2026.
