Committee approves $7,000 in small community project requests for Malden and Berea

Greenville County’s Committee on Finance approved two community project requests brought forward by county staff.

Mr. Lambert presented the first request from the city of Malden to partner with the Malden Garden Club to install a South Carolina native fence garden at the Malden Cultural Center. The requested amount is $5,000 and would be funded from District 24 Community Project Funds; the contact named was Seth Duncan, city administrator.

The committee also approved a $2,000 request from the Berea Public Service District to purchase an AED for community use, in partnership with Trinity Way Baptist Church; the funds were to come from District 19 Community Project Funds. Both projects were approved by voice vote.

The approvals direct staff to proceed with project agreements and the standard procurement steps for these small community-funded efforts.
