Representatives of Moorhead High School’s band and orchestra told the board on Jan. 12 that they plan a major‑magnitude educational and performance trip to Orlando in spring 2027 and requested board approval. The board approved the field trip request by voice vote after a presentation describing planned public performances, studio experiences and fundraising support.
Pam Rumbling and Anthony Anderson outlined trip logistics and scheduling considerations tied to the still‑to‑be‑finalized school calendar. “The estimate for this trip is around $2,400,” a presenter said, and staff said they expect the trip should not cause students to miss more than three school days. Fundraising programs are offered to help students cover costs.
A motion to approve the major‑magnitude field trip was moved by Scott and seconded by Cassidy and carried by voice vote. District staff will finalize dates once the 2026–27 school calendar is set and will provide parents and guardians the specific itinerary and cost‑assistance information before travel.
