City planner announces public outreach schedule for comprehensive land use and master street plan

City planning staff told the commission the city is updating its comprehensive land use plan and master street plan and has hired a consultant to lead the work. Staff said commissioners had been sent a questionnaire and asked for prompt responses to assist the consultant's work.

The planner announced a Feb. 12 public hearing (expected 5–7 p.m. at Earl Veil) to review survey results and preliminary work and said a weeklong charette session starting March 1 would be held at the O Y. Staff said more information and notices will be provided as the process proceeds.

Commissioners were asked to return input quickly to aid the consultant and to attend public outreach events as available. This schedule and the public engagement opportunities were presented as a next step in updating the city's land‑use guidance.
