At its Jan. 12 meeting, the Gardner–Edgerton Board of Education acknowledged district donations, approved the consent agenda, and approved personnel actions following executive sessions.
Heath Freeman read a list of donations including holiday treats and small gifts to staff at Moonlight Elementary and anonymous contributions that helped cover meal account balances at Gardner Elementary and Sunflower Elementary. The board thanked donors.
The consent agenda—containing the minutes of the Dec. 8, 2025 meeting, financial statements/treasurer's report, a high school course fee schedule, contract approvals, committee structure for 2026, and claims—was moved and seconded and approved.
Later in the meeting the board voted to enter executive sessions under open‑meetings exceptions for negotiations, personnel and the superintendent’s confidential evaluation; invited staff were named for each session. After returning from executive session, the board approved personnel as provided. The meeting then adjourned and the board set upcoming meeting dates on Jan. 26 (budget/negotiations) and Feb. 9 (regular meeting).
Motions and votes for these routine items were recorded in the meeting minutes; no contested policy decisions were taken during these agenda items.
