GREELEY — Greeley City staff announced a public open house for the West Side area plan on Jan. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Family Funplex, aiming to collect community feedback that will inform a draft targeted for adoption this summer.
Caleb Jackson of Greeley’s community development department said the meeting is open to everyone and will focus on land uses, transportation, parks and trails in western parts of the city. “Greeley is growing,” Jackson said, adding the plan is intended to guide how that growth happens.
The open house follows a July visioning session led by planner Jeff Speck at the Ames Welcome Center and continued outreach via an online survey on speakupgreeley.com. Jackson said the Jan. 26 event represents a midpoint in the planning process: staff will present a refined vision to residents and gather more feedback before bringing a finalized plan back for adoption this summer.
Jackson also noted that the city is working on other planning efforts, including an East Side area plan that remains ongoing and is available on speakupgreeley.com for public review.
Organizers said recordings of the open house will be posted after the event, and residents can RSVP or learn more at speakupgreeley.com.
The city did not provide additional details in the recorded remarks about exact plan boundaries; a phrase in the transcript describing the West Side boundary was unclear. Staff directed listeners to the project webpage for maps, timelines and how to participate.
