Hilton Head Island designates Bluffton chamber as destination marketing organization; contract approved Dec. 18, 2025

Kyla Williams reported that the town of Hilton Head Island approved a new professional services contract awarding the Hilton Head Island‑Bluffton Chamber of Commerce the role of destination marketing organization. The broadcast said South Carolina law requires certain local governments that receive accommodation tax revenues to designate an eligible organization to conduct tourism advertising and promotion.

Williams said the contract was presented to the town council at its Dec. 18, 2025 meeting and was approved unanimously; the broadcast did not provide vote counts, the full contract text, or the contract term and compensation.
