Board approves routine personnel, minutes, a swim team trip and human-resources report

At its Dec. 3 meeting, the Queen Anne's County Board of Education approved a set of routine action items by voice vote. The board accepted the Dec. 3 meeting agenda and approved both open‑ and closed‑session minutes from Nov. 5. The human resources report was approved as presented.

The board also approved an overnight trip for the Kent Island High School varsity swim team to Plantation, Florida, for training at the Plantation Aquatic Center. Sid Pinder (chief operating officer) and coaching staff said the revised plan substitutes a charter bus for previously planned air travel; approximately 12–15 students and coaches would travel, departing Dec. 18 and returning Dec. 23. Board members confirmed fundraising had reduced costs and approved the motion by voice vote.
