Council refers proposal for dual-use marijuana dispensary at 1960 West Market Street

Akron City Council heard a presentation on a proposed conditional use for a dual-use marijuana dispensary at 1960 West Market Street and referred the item for further consideration.

Mister Antonucci described the Tango Ventures LLC application for Clutch Cannabis to renovate a 1,490-square-foot building, provide a delivery area and multiple parking stalls (7 spaces east, 2 additional south, 19 angled to the south), install a 6-foot solid wooden fence and landscaping, retain four front light fixtures and an awning, and operate daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The applicant previously received conditional use approval for a new building on the abutting lot (1956 West Market Street) but now proposes relocation and renovation of the existing structure; planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval subject to conditions.

Mister Nisha, representing the petitioner, told council the proposal moves operations 15–20 feet west into an existing building, which will allow the business to open more quickly; he offered site plans and said he was available to answer questions. The council moved to pull the committee and refer the item for further consideration.
