Guymon recognizes Tracy Bowers for four decades of service

The Guymon City Council presented a proclamation on Dec. 13 honoring Tracy Bowers for more than 40 years of service to the City of Guymon.

The proclamation recited Bowers' start date (June 1, 1984) and highlighted his steady leadership, attention to detail and mentorship of younger employees. The council invited Bowers to come forward for recognition and a brief speech.

In his remarks, Tracy Bowers thanked colleagues by name, recalled family ties to city service and said he would remember the relationships he formed while working for the city. He told the council, "We have over a 150 of service to this community. We've given our time for this community. We love this community. We care about this community." Council members and attendees applauded and offered their thanks.

The meeting record shows the council acknowledged Bowers' retirement and offered appreciation for his years of service; no formal policy action was attached to the proclamation.
